Before the Feed: A Six-Month Practice in Gratitude and Unplugging
Before the Feed: A Six-Month Practice in Gratitude and Unplugging
What happens when you step away from the feed?
Before the Feed is a six-month guided practice in gratitude, attention, and unplugging from the digital world.
Each week invites you to step away from your phone and other connected devices for one 25-hour period, creating space to notice what is easy to miss when life is mediated by a screen. Seven short daily prompts accompany each week, encouraging reflection on attention, gratitude, silence, relationships, habits, and the ordinary details of life.
The practice unfolds across six sections, each opening with an original oil painting by author and artist Adam Norgaard: Starting Points (Weeks 1–4), Paying Attention (Weeks 5–8), What's Actually Here(Weeks 9–13), What Comes Forward (Weeks 14–18), On Your Terms (Weeks 19–22), and Keeping It (Weeks 23–26).
Across 26 weeks, the practice gradually becomes less about "disconnecting" and more about reconnecting: with paper books, handwriting, quiet mornings, conversations, surroundings, and your own thoughts.
This is not a productivity tracker or a challenge to complete perfectly. It is a place to slow down, write by hand, and discover what remains when the feed stops.
